and was founded in Flushing, New York, in 1996.
KAVC’s mission is to get more Korean Americans to go out and vote. For over 15 years, KAVC has been working in local communities to inform Korean Americans of the importance of Voting. We dream of creating a more encouraging environment for Korean Americans to get involved in local politics, and work hard to bring that dream to reality.
Since our formation in 1996, KAVC has registered over 20,000 new voters by setting up voter registration tables and informational sessions at local Korean American churches and community centers. Once registered, we do our best to inform communities of election schedules, candidates, and important issues - especially those concerning Korean Americans - to ensure that our voters are well - informed and fully motivated.
We also run communitu programs for Korean teenagers to voluteer of intern, as well as educational and leadership programs to help build up the Korean community.
